Cefalu

What kind of place Cefalu is?

Cefalu is a small province of Palermo where there are amazing landscapes, waves, gorgeous and old style buildings and incredible beaches and coast. It is one of the oldest fishing town in the Sicily. Unlike the other Italian villages, Cefalu is keeping its original construction. In the past, it was controlled by Byzantine, Spanish and interestingly by Arabs and today Italian. That is why it is including multicultural values.

What to see there?

When I saw Cefalu at the first time I fell in love with that town. It has really nice beaches and clear waters. You can easily see in the deep. In the morning you may enjoy watching the sunrise from the beach. But it is strongly recommended that you watch the sunset while you are lying on the beach.

When you arrive at the seaside you can see an amazing landscape because there is a hill just behind the beach. And on the coast sides, there are many old style houses.

In the city center there is an old cathedral constructed by the Normand and then it was restored by Byzantine artists. This cathedral is located on the top of the hill. Inside of the cathedral is decorated with amazing mosaics. On the right and left sides of the cathedral, many restaurants are located. They are selling so nice Italıan coffees.

In the city center, while you are walking on the street you can see there are many lovely and small souvenir shops where you can buy some gifts. There are narrow streets and they are mostly crowded.

Accommodation in Cefalu

There are many accommodation options which are not really expensive for the visitors. In the city center there are many lovely hotels. I can offer you some hotels:

• Villa Magara : it has nice view of the sea. And also it has a small pool in front of the hostel. Per night it takes around 60 euros.
• Hotel La Giara : 1 km far away from the center and it costs around 70-80 euros.
