Hey :) ,
I and a friend of mine will be in Venice on the 4th of July, for EILC. I heard that staying in Venice might cost too much for us, and now we are looking for a place for accommodation nearby Venice, like Padova (if you have any other ideas about nearby cities, please let us know).
Is there anyone who can help us?

Hi! I have studied in Padova for some years..prices may vary from 120+some expenses (total around 150)..(but it is quite the very lowest price that you can find..and it is very hard to find..) to some hundreds.. generally for a nice/standard room (shared with another one) the average price is 180, 200 euros/month plus bills, resulting in something like 230 euros/month.. This comes from my personal experience; then someone else could have found a differente situation; but I think this is the average. I do not know about prices in Venice, but consider that moving between Padova and Venice will have a cost (train, time..). I think it is really better to stay more close to Venice if you want to study there..probably in the surrounding there will be some cheaper places (Padova itself is not relatively cheap I think). Good luck!

Hi, I was in Padova until the end of May. The prices depend on the type of accomondation you are looking for but it doesn't worth to stay there because you will have to pay also for the tickets and I think that the expenses are almost the same with Venice. I was paying 300 for my room in an appartment of 5 people. The ticket from Padova to venice costs 3,50 for the regional train and the time that you need from is around 35 minutes to one hour depending on the time that you will take. I know that Mestre is close to Venice but I haven't heard very good comments for this area. I suggest to find something close to the place that you are going to do your EILC programme. You can look for a shared appartment and also for a double room to share it with your friend. You can save a lot of money by this way. http://venezia.bakeca.it/offro-camera-0?/search/quartiere-solocitta .
