Why did you choose to go to Oviedo, Spain?

Out university didn't have many links in Spain and Oviedo was a new one so they sent us there.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Student loans and the erasmus grant

What is the student lifestyle like in Oviedo?

loca! With the help of ESN we experienced a crazy lifestlye travelling, meeting new people and fiesta!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Oviedo to other students?

Yes! It's the perfect student place and there is always something to do.

What is the food like?

I wish we had 'tierra astur' here in England, the food is really nice after deciding I can't be a vegetarian there there were many more options ahah.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Oviedo?

We had to stay in a hotel for a week whilst flat searching but there are loads of flats advertised on facebook, hotel notice boards at the uni and at the international office.

How much does it cost to live in Oviedo?

My flat was 300 euros a month with everything included but you can find flats for as little as 200 euros a month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It was easy to get to grips with after a few sidras or cubattas ;) with other students. The uni on campus milan offers a language course at 'casa de las lenguas' you register there and its a month intensive course with other erasmus students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Oviedo from your city?

From Nottingham we found that the only way to fly to Oviedo is from Stansted with easy jet.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Oviedo?

B12! Joke. No seriously, start at la radio and other bars I can't remember the names of then go to B12 at about 4 then salsipuedes until 8am ;) La vida loca!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Oviedo?

Tierra Astur!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The beach in Gijon, all the trips organised by the erasmus organisations.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Oviedo in the future?

Just relax! We found a flat near campus milan and the main city, it was the best location for the party life because we could walk everywhere and there are lots of students there. Go on the trips, get drunk, make friends and enjoy yourself.
