Why did you choose to go to Oviedo, Spain?
Well, because I already knew the south of Spain and I wanted to try something new. I didn't know nothing about north and Oviedo.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
The scholarship last 5 motnhs I received 1, 660 euro for this period.
What is the student lifestyle like in Oviedo?
The student lifestyle in Oviedo is great. There are a lot of bars, clubs and other places that you can go to. The culture of the city is highly developed.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Oviedo to other students?
Of course. Honestly, it will be the time of your life. The city is not big so you can explore it.
What is the food like?
Food is very diverse. From typical Spanish: chorizo, jamón ibérico, tapas, you can try seafood and many local dishes, for example: fabada etc.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Oviedo?
No, I found it really fast thanks to Erasmus forum on Facebook, I also searched trough sites: ENALQUILER, for example.
How much does it cost to live in Oviedo?
About 350-400 euro a month... of course it depends on what you spend your money
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Well, I studied in Spanish so it wasn't easy to get to the course I wanted. If you study in English it´s much more difficult because not all the courses are in English.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Oviedo from your city?
From my city it wasn´t cheap. I like to travel and I like adventures so I went there by car.
The easiest way is taking a plane to Madrid and then travel by train or bus.
Planes from Poland to Oviedo are expensive.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Oviedo?
Highly recommended! The parties in Oviedo are unforgettable. Normally the nightlife starts at midnight but the most amazing parties at 3 or later. Don´t be shocked to see yourself coming back home at 10 am.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Oviedo?
In Boulevard de la Sidra there are good restaurants and bars where you can find good food and the best sidra in Oviedo.
I recommend you also to find a place away from the centre and try something local.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Visit: OVIEDOCULTURAL.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Oviedo in the future?
Disfruta de tu vida Erasmus! Enjoy your Erasmus life. Travel and try everything new. Drink in moderation and dance till morning. Don´t be afraid to speak other language. Be open!
