Why did you choose to go to Ourense, Spain?

I got a job there.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I think it was about 600 EUR per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ourense?

It depends; I worked there so it was not so easy like for many others.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ourense to other students?

I recommend to connect with other Erasmus students there as soon as possible - in this case is better to come exactly in the beginning of semester and to join welcome parties or so to meet people.

What is the food like?

Just delicious, maybe the best thing for me there.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ourense?

My coworker helped me to find accommodation, it was near to the university and quite cheap, I was satisfied. I recommend to find something near to school/dormitory because public transport is not so good...

How much does it cost to live in Ourense?

I did not count it, but it is quite cheap.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, there are available courses, I would not recommend to go to Ourense if you don´t speak Spanish because English is not well used there.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ourense from your city?

I travelled from Prague and the best way to travel there is to take a plane to Vigo if you have someone who can pick you up (otherwise it is not easy to go by bus to Vigo because there are no buses during the night). I flew to Madrid and then took train to Ourense, I believe this is the best way.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ourense?

I cannot remember name of the club, I did not go out many times but for sure in the old centre of the city there are nice bars!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ourense?

Again, in the centre of the city there are many good restaurants.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

For sure the roman baths.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ourense in the future?

I would repeat two recommendations: to connect with other students as soon as possible and to study Spanish a lot before going to Ourense.
