Erasmus in Oulu

This experience in Oulu changed my life. When I first arrived there in January, it was so cold (-37 degrees celsius) even my eyelashes were freezing. But the landscapes were so pretty I almost forgot about the cold. 

The city is also very beautifu during winter, you can still see the Christmas lights everywhere. You can walk next to the frozen sea or you can try to find Toripolissi (the little policeman). The most beautiful part of the city in my opinion was the port, with the red houses. 

If you get bored during winter, you can go for walks (as long as you have warm clothes). You can walk on frozen lakes for example, it is such a beautiful experience. 

And if you have the chance to travel to Lapland, you might get to see the northern lights just like I did. 

Also, do not think that Finns do not know how to party! They do know, trust me. They have a sort of tradition which consists of wearing overalls (each color represents one guild) and sewing patches that they get at parties on them. They also love alcohol... Just saying.

There were also a lot of concerts during my stay there so I got to see some Finnish artists.

If you have the chance to go to Oulu, definitely go for it, you'll love it.
