Tvrđa

Osijek Fort Baroque town-fortress called Tvrđa, dates from 18th century created by the current transformation of older historic town that has stood on key strategic crossing over the river Drava. The first new city-fortress was built in the baroque system of a large strategic fortified towns on the border of the Ottoman Empire which was the 1712th was conceived and built by Prince Eugene of Savoy. Today, Tvrđa is a touristic and cultural centre with lots of caffes, exhibitions, museums... And also center for young people during day and also during night due to high schools that are located there and also most of the Osijek's clubs.
