Experience in Odense, Denmark by Davide
What is it like to live in Odense? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is a real student-city. There are many bars and it is a nice city where there can be done many activities such as playing football, basket, and other sports. There are several cinemas and a lot of bars and restaurant (most of them have the same menu-card). The city is not big so it is easy to walk around and you will not need a lot of time to become your own Odense-expert.
What is the student lifestyle like in Odense?
There are many bars and sport activities, there are beautiful park areas and it is in general a really nice city to live in. Furthermore are there a lot of shopping possibilities.
How much does it cost to live in Odense?
I will say that you can find a room to rent or like that for €300-450 per month. Depending on your standard you can cook your own food and be fine for €150 per month.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Odense? Is there any advice you can give?
I do not really know.
What is the food like? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
The food in general in Odense is not especially good, and you can pay a lot. There are many places with buffet, Chinese, Turkish. Otherwise I would recommend Flammen which is really good. If you like a lot of meat, this might be one of the best places I have been! 25-30 all you can eat. Beverage is though quite expensive.
Is the nightlife good in Odense? Where is good to go?
It is a lot of fun. Go on Thursdays with the other students. It is better than in the weekends. LA-bar is a lot of fun!
What advice would you give future students headed to Odense?
Walk around in all of Odense the first two days and search for inspiration. The city is not big and you will not get lost.
