good for study not for party
I spent about 4 months in Novara at the faculty of Physiotherapy. I liked the level of education there and the people were ok, yet the weather is not nice at all and the city does not offer You many activities, although you can always go to some pub/fitness club, but not big choice and i prefer more social events and outdoor activities.
Since the university is divided for 3 different cities, as well the erasmus students are. That's why i guess I didn't meet almost anybody there, nevertheless had a nice time and the flat i found was full of very sympathetic students.
The university does not help to find a flat and you need to speak fluently italian, so you should be aware and prepare preahead.
Although it is a small city, it's not so cheap and for the flat You should count at least 200 euro or even 300 euro.
Novara is famous for rice fields and tiger mosquitos so be prepared.
One of the main typical dish here is pretty heavy (i haven't tried though) paniscia (rice with veggies, beans, meat and all you can put)
You can find many cheap supermarkets near The Hospital of San Giuliano.
There is a nice Bio shop with the unpacked food as like flakes, flours, grains, spices, cosmetics, wine and i really recommend the place- Cuordimamma.
