Experience in Nis, Yugoslavia by vesela
What is it like to live in Nis? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
You would be coming to one of the most oldest cities in Europe that has been constantly occupied for over 7000 years :D
If you are into History this is a great city to live in, literally wherever you dig you'll find something ancient, and with its underground roman network of tunnels is just amazing. Its the city of Constantine the Great, he was born here as well as few other roman emperors, with one of the biggest emperors palaces on over 80 hectares of land... With the unique scull-tower... its just the city engulfed in the veil of mystery and cheap fun!
What is the student lifestyle like in Nis?
It's cheep and extremely livable, you'll feel like the king of the world most of the time, not like a student at all! Eating out in most fancy restaurants going to cinemas and theaters is just unbelievably cheep and awesome! ;)
How much does it cost to live in Nis?
You could find a room somewhere from 50 - 60 euros per month, the whole flat from 100 euros up. It's so great! Food is extremely cheep, especially on the open market, farmers market, where all the food comes from local farmers and its mostly organic not sprayed with anything.
