What is it like to live in Nagpur? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Nagpur is the right city to work in. A city growing like cancer, thanks to GST implementation, it is expected to be 10x the size in next 8 years.

Nagpur has 3 tiger reserve parks next to it. One can for sure be within inches of their presence. The water is clean courtesy the beautiful lakes.

People are pleasant, and disciplined. But, lazy. They don't really know how to drive as they see spurt in incomes but have no clue how to behave in their income growth.

Nagpur is a Power-center to India. The RSS belongs here and does everything to keep the city clean and tidy. Minimal corruption, city planning is outstanding, projects completed on time and wide roads. In India, this is a wow factor.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nagpur?

Many vital engineering, architectural and medical universities operate in Nagpur. They are providing a strong workforce to the growth of the city

How much does it cost to live in Nagpur?

If one needs to live in Nagpur, grandly, a monthly expense(including rent) of Rs. 30000/- should be fantastic. I know of students who survive in shared accommodation and food in one third of the price. Rs.30000/- is about USD 450 /- or EUR 400/- a month

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nagpur? Is there any advice you can give?

Accommodation is extremely cheap in Nagpur. I know of furnished 3 BHK with attached bathrooms that are available for Rs. 12000/- a month only. A PG kind of grand accommodation with security and the works are currently for Rs. 18000/-

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Nagpur provides a variety of dishes from surrounding states. Nagpur, by itself is the orange city of India. Hence, food made of oranges are common. Also, Nagpur specializes in "Saoji". This is a extremely spicy type of food that even Indians find spicy. But, people who love spicy meats love it as it changes the taste in the foods fabric.

What places would you recommend visiting in Nagpur?

The zoo, three wild parks for Safaris and overnight stay, boating place in Pench national park, spiritual and yoga HQs etc....

Is it good to eat out in Nagpur? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I "ALWAYS" eat out. It's cheaper than making it at home and faster. Moreover, since the locals are friendly, you always get a story.

Is the nightlife good in Nagpur? Where is good to go?

Nightlife is coming up. The nights are very safe as there are cops all around and the RSS ensures it remains that way. Remember, even the Prime Minister and Chief Minister are related to Nagpur. Hence, extra safety thrown in.

Meanwhile, if you ask for clubs, there a few but nothing special to mention about. You can have fun in the wild life parks though - plenty of resorts there.

What advice would you give future students heading to Nagpur?

It's a good choice to study well at great prices.
