Christmas Market - Munster

Munster is located in the north east, an hour and a half on the train from Duisburg.

The beauty of the central city streets is emphasized by the lighting that they acquire during the Christmas period.

The photo is of the historical centre's main street next to the cathedral, which is a few minutes walk away from the city's central station.

One of the five Christmas markets that the city centre is home to, is located in one end of the mentioned street: the one of the cathedral. In this market, the stands are located close to said monument, with roofs in the form of peaks and simulating it being snowing. It's surrounded by buildings in that peculiar style of construction, which can be appreciated at the bottom of the image.

Another area is the 'Platz des Westfälischen' where a small Christmas market is found, in a small square amongst houses, with a lot of decoration and a small Christmas tree.

Finally, to add a last photo of another small corner of the city, in which the great atmosphere that is breathed in these places is clearly appreciated - especially around a stand of 'glühwein' (mulled wine), where people meet to talk and most of all, to drink.
