Spending your Erasmus year abroad in Strasbourg or other cities of Alsace? You cannot miss this wonderful zoo and botanical garden! Not only do you get the chance to see animal species you normally wouldn't, but you are also surrounded by a myriad of unique trees and plants. This place is truly captivating!
The animal we were particularly fond of seeing was the polar bear, which was calmly swimming in its large pool and playfully swirling around!
As to the monkeys, I have never seen so many species in my whole life (and I used to take care of a monkey baby for half a year, so naturally they have grown into my heart!)
This is a lion chilling with his wife - what an adorable couple.
So did the Australian kangoroo:
As to the beautiful scenery offered by the botanical garden, it is truly picturesque:
Unfortunately, this place didn't offer many restaurants or cafes, with the exception of a few stalls offering crepes and some quick meals. But there are two restaurants near the ZOO, so this should not cause you any larger concerns!
My friend and I were definitely glad to have visited this place - even though this isn't the largest ZOO you have probably come across in your life, it surely is worth seeing!
