What is it like to live in Mugla? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I definitely recommend it.
I've been studying in Mugla for 4 years.In my opinion this city is one of the best cities to study in Turkey.
Especially if you are an Erasmus student.
What is the student lifestyle like in Mugla?
There are approximately 40K students From different countries and etnichs in Mugla. I can say that Mugla is a student city.
How much does it cost to live in Mugla?
Rents are expensive. It costs 800 Lira to rent 1+1 flat.
prices of food and clothes are not expensive. Not that cheap either.It depends on where you have it.
Drinks are expensive but it's not just in Mugla. Drinks are expensive all around the country due to taxes.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Mugla? Is there any advice you can give?
Accommodation is the biggest problem in Mugla. City is overcrowded by students and obviously there are not enough flats. You can not find a decent place to live unless you come before Fall season start. Even if you can, it costs you a lot.
Erasmus students, mostly, lives in Akyaka, A small and beautiful town by the sea and only 30 km away from the school. Transportation from Akyaka to Universty is avaliable every day and every hour.
I advise you to live in Akyaka. You won't regret.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Foods are great.
Iskender, Kebab, Lahmacun and other dozens of delicous foods awaits you.
My favourite is Iskender.
What places would you recommend visiting in Mugla?
Mugla is 2nd Most visited city in Turkey. Therefore, you will have countless places to visit.
Marmaris, Fethiye, Bodrum etc.
Is it good to eat out in Mugla? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
I'm not really interested in food. So I don't know much spots to eat out.
Alabi Restorant is Only good spot I know.
Is the nightlife good in Mugla? Where is good to go?
In some places, Nightlife is really good. But you need to be there during summer.
What advice would you give future students heading to Mugla?
You are coming to a great city and great country. Don't waste your time by staying in one city or in one place. Other than Mugla there are 80 cities to visit. To see. To enjoy.
