A Night in Monte-Carlo - Erasmus Party at Twiga Beach Club

Published by flag-in Astha Chopra — 4 years ago

I recently shifted to Milan for a year of study at the Politecnico university and had heard a lot about the Milan Erasmus society since I had joined a few Whatsapp groups in search of accommodation and roommates. Fast forward to my second week in this beautiful city, and I found myself submitting my name to an Erasmus party going to be held at the Twiga Beach Club in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

The evening bus ride, lasting approximately 5 hours, was super comfortable and fun. We were given a stop in between as well, to rest, refresh and change (for the females especially - as there is a strict formal dress code at the club). Monte-Carlo itself looked breathtaking at night, with street lights and illuminated buildings reflecting in the sea water, giving a very surreal look to the small, fancy city. Twiga Beach Club was located in a very nice area, well-lit and surrounded by hotels and restaurants.

We went up in the club around 11.00 pm, and were taken to a private room with a small buffet prepared especially for us! The Erasmus members who were in charge were fun and approachable, and after dinner we were told to dance, drink and enjoy ourselves. We were also given two-drink tokens, which was definitely a great aspect of the party!

Twiga itself was extremely fancy and posh, even serving sheesha. The DJ really knew how to set up a mood, and the dancers gave an extremely entertaining performance, encouraging us to keep dancing as well.

The crowd was very nice, well-dressed and decent. We danced till the wee hours of the morning, after which at 4 am it was time for us to leave.

The Erasmus party experience was definitely worth a night out - and the best part? It was absolutely free! All they asked us to do was post about the club on Instagram and tag Twiga Beach Club, which was the least we could do.

I will definitely be joining again on this trip, but the next time I think I will book a hotel and stay in Monte-Carlo - seeing the town at night really ignited my travel bug!

There are many things to do and see, that I learnt from this blog written by Amy Stamford when she went road tripping in the South of France -

One day in Monte-Carlo.

I am yet to join in on the Erasmus parties held during the week in Milan itself, but after this amazing experience at Twiga, I will definitely be taking time out to party more with the Erasmus society!
