Luisenpark is an absolutely gorgeous part of Mannheim, perfect for a day out or even just a sunny afternoon with friends. It has food and drink options, lots of activities, and gorgeous gardens. If you need a bit of a break from the industrial city centre, it's definitely worth a visit.
Opening times and prices
Unfortunately, entry to Luisenpark isn't free. It costs 6 Euros to enter during the day (only 3 during the off-season between November and February), and 1.50 to just go in the evening. You can easily spend the whole day there though so it's good value for money!
During the peak season, between March and October, the park is open daily from 10am until 8pm (for entry, you can stay for longer than that). The timings are slightly different in winter, but it's best to visit Luisenpark when the weather is decent anyway!
Food and drink
There are a few different restaurants in Luisenpark, a Chinese tea-house in the Chinese gardens, and various stalls selling drinks, ice-creams, hot dogs and chips dotted around! There's also a BBQ area with picnic tables, so you can take and cook your own food if you'd like. There's plenty of grassy areas and benches for picnics in the park as well, if you'd rather not buy food there!
What to do
The park has some really beautiful gardens, as well as a large lake in the centre which you can take little boat rides around. It also has a petting zoo area, aquarium, butterfly house, tropical greenhouse, mini golf, and sports area. The park also has events and stuff going on pretty regularly, so that's worth checking out too!
