Chillar River is located between Competa and Nerja, and is popular for hikers and nature lovers. The river is short, but enough for one day walking along the course.

Every summer many people go to the river, but in summer the flow is lower, but weather is better so you can swim in ponds and small lakes that are forming there.

I went with my friends at the end of last summer, and the truth that is a highly recommended experience, besides that it is free, you breathe pure air, and live a quiet moment, but depending on how you take it may be a little more busy.

The beauty of this river is to walk up all the way and down the road you will reach the dam, where you can swim in a reservoir.

Beyond that, the mountain also has beautiful views, and from the top you can see the town and coastline.

Once you get to the highest reaches of the river, you have two options to download: one is to return the same course of the river, and another is going through a ditch that runs along the mountain from the dam to near the end of the course.

It is a journey that for some can be dangerous, and those who have problems with vertigo is not advisable, I say that this path is longer, but it could be faster. You can choose a route one day and then come back another day and choose the other route.

Important to bring appropriate footwear to keep your feet in the water, and with stand the stones, so that you can get wet and have a good tread. You should also bring you a backpack with food for the all day, forget the bars and restaurants! haha!
