What is it like to live in Madagascar? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It's nice to nice to live in Madagascar if ones like simplicity, tropical weather... It's safer to live in the coasts side than in the capital city Antananarivo. The city is busy but not very safe special for young girl alone. But with friends it should be fine.
What is the student lifestyle like in Madagascar?
Well, I have lived abroad during the college years so I am not sure of how is student lifestyle but I believe the city is vibrant enough if ones would like to go out on the weekends or going to restaurants with friends.
How much does it cost to live in Madagascar?
It's all depend on everyone's expenses and lifestyle but it could be about 45 USD per month if you could by yourself at home for the food, 100 USD$ for food if you eat outside sometimes, transports is like bus is about 0.1 $USD per ride, taxi is starting from 1.8 $USD per ride and room rent starts from 30 $ USD but if you nice flat then it could reach 150 $USD per month. It's not expensive since the money is very low.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Madagascar? Is there any advice you can give?
Not really. You can check on google "Agence immobilier, Antananarivo Madagascar" or there are some groups on Facebook such as "Trano Mora Ahofa", you can make an announcement there.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Foods are nice, fresh and clean. I love seafoods like prawn, shrimps and beans.
What places would you recommend visiting in Madagascar?
Many... I recommend you to visit the Tsingy de Bemaraha in Morondava, L'Allée de Baobab, Sainte Marie, Andasibe National parc, etc.
Is it good to eat out in Madagascar? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes. If you are located in the capital you can go to Akoor Digue, and La City Ivandry there are food courts there.
Is the nightlife good in Madagascar? Where is good to go?
Yes, it's good. There are many places to go Manson, Kudeta, Le Club, etc.
What advice would you give future students heading to Madagascar?
Enjoy your journey and take care of your belonging when walking on the road in the city.
