The city is small and cozy, a medieval town surrounded by hills. There are several university and a medium level social life, especially for university students. For sure it's typical and it could be a nice experience for an international student.

What is the student lifestyle like in Macerata?

On Wednesdays and Thursdays most of the students meet in the city center, where a lot of activities in pubs and bars are organized.

How much does it cost to live in Macerata?

It's not expensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Macerata? Is there any advice you can give?

It's easy to find a room in a shared apartment in the city center or a room in one of the student dormitories.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is good and typical italian, not so many ethnic restaurants, just a couple of chinese spots and kebabs. My favorite dishes are: lasagna, pizza, fried olives, truffle pasta, gelato.

What places would you recommend visiting in Macerata?

Sferisterio, Palazzo Buonaccorsi, the Tower in the main square, Abbadia di Fiastra.

Is it good to eat out in Macerata? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It's nice to wake up and have breakfast in one of the several bars of the city, with a croissant and a cappuccino, or going for a walk in the late afternoon and stop for an "aperitivo" (a cocktail or a glass of wine with some appetizers on a side).My favorite bars are: Doppio Zero and Pathos, both of them in the near the main square.
