Why did you choose to go to Macerata, Italy?
After completing my graduation in india, my aim was to do masters from any international university so when I searched on internet I saw Macerata University which is very old university since from 1620. Courses which are offered by university is also very nice... and faculty is also very nice and they help me a lot in getting visa. When I reached Macerata and met my professors then I got to know I took the right decision...
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I came late so that's why I haven't got any scholarship and I haven't got any money so I am living in a private accommodation... but next year I will get the accommodation, food and everything from the ERSU department...
What is the student lifestyle like in Macerata?
Thi Macerata everywhere you will find students... and everyone show they concern and respect for international students. There are lots of libraries, computer labs and full help from the people. Apart from that, there are many places where you can enjoy a lot like bars, cafe, pubs and you will find lots of shops...
Would you recommend the city and the University of Macerata to other students?
Big yes! Don't wait, don't think about it, people are here to welcome you...its like a second home.
What is the food like?
You can find lots of restaurants and varieties of food and there is no match of taste. According to me, I love döner kebab, pizza, and differnt cuisines.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Macerata?
No people helped me out in finding accommodation... And no one asks for a single penny...
How much does it cost to live in Macerata?
150euro for accommodation including all expenses and 100 euro for food total 300 is more than enough for a month..
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes. There is one small problem regarding language... but I learned basic Italian language in 2 months... and there are many Italian schools who provide free classes.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Macerata from your city?
I am from India so I don't I have many options, but for European you can choose any mode of traveling.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Macerata?
"4porto" (I think that's the name) is a pub near the centre of macerata.. which opens till late night specially wednesday night.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Macerata?
You can eat anywhere, all are nice. According to me, pizzeria Bel Mondo in Piazza Mazzini, doner kabab in Corso Cavour and sushi restaurant.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Whole city is full of cultural sites..
