Luedenscheid is not an ideal city to live in as it is a fairly small city. Some knowledge of the German language will be very beneficial as English is not commonly spoken there.
The city itself, like any other city as its charm. Yet due to the size of it, Luedenscheid does not make for a tourist attraction.

What is the student lifestyle like in Luedenscheid?

I lived there with my family so I'm not so sure how the "student" lifestyle is there. I can however account for populated youth. The are a few decent bars and clubs around that have offer a good party atmosphere.

There are plenty of dinning options in Luedenscheid. You can get Asian food, Italian, Greek, Turkish, German, and American (fast food chains) and all at a reasonable price.

What advice would you give future students heading to Luedenscheid?

I would advise you to go to another city for Erasmus/studies/internships etc.
