My small get-away to London
I was on Erasmus in Birmingham, and a friend of mine from Spain said that they wanted to come and see me, but she had never been to London before. So, we put everything into motion, reserving flights and accommodation. But... we were there for 3 nights and 3 days; the 3rd day we went at midday and the first night was getting there and sleeping. Let's go, with what we say falling into two days.
Day 1
We went the day before late in the evening, so we decided to sleep during that night and sight-see on the following day. The first day we went to:
- Piccadilly Circus
- Trafalgar Square
- Palacio de Buckingham
- Hyde Park
- Westminster Abbey
- London Eye
- Big Ben: it was under renovation.
- Tower Bridge
- Brittish Museum
We ended up feeling dead, but it was really cool. I recommend that you get a metro subscription: you are going to use it a lot. We travelled on the cheap and we didn't pay to go in the attractions (like the London Eye) I had been there before so I didn't mind.
These type of attractions are quite expensive but if you can afford it you can take out subscriptions which last a day to go on all of them.
Day 2
We went back to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard and went for a walk through St. James' Park. Apart from this, we spent a lot of the day in Camden town, an incredible place. I recommend it 100 per cent and you can eat really well from the food stalls.
In the Camden area, there are buildings that are decorated incredibly and also stalls with everything you could imagine (sunglasses, clothes, things for smokers)... You should also go to the shop Cyberdog. It is really strange; they have stuff for raves (clothes, glasses, hats, mascaras, etc), and they have live music and even some pole dancers. On the floor below they have a sex shop which is huge and has really interesting things inside.
We also went to Carnaby street which has quite a lot of brand shops and some really cool streets.
We wanted to go to the Lego shop but there was an enormous queue, so we went to the M&M one instead After this, we went to China Town, where we went for a small stroll before going back to our Airbnb:
I hope that this express visit to London has been helpful for you to hear about.
