Experience in University of Munich, Germany by Stina
Generally, what is University of Munich like?
LMU is a well-known university in Munich. It has a long history and a high ranking among the most appreciated universities around the world. If the LMU has the course you are interested in and you speak a bit German, it's worthwhile to spend your Erasmus at LMU.
What are the facilities like?
The facilities are in different locations across Munich. Some of them are really far from the city centre, so it might be hard and expensive to reach. The main building is historical.
What are the tutors like?
My experience with the tutor was OK, she was really friendly but due to the clash in timetables, we didn't meet up too many times. From other experiences, I saw that some of the students became really good friends with their tutors.
Are the lessons easy in University of Munich?
Depends on the lesson, some professors don't give Erasmus students any mercy. But some let them through more easily. Also, a language might become a problem when German isn't on a good level.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
Most of the parties are organized by student organisations, MESA being one of the biggest among them. Also, many trips are organized for Erasmus students, which are a fun and quite cheap way to discover new places and people.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
I think the teaching is high quality, because some of the professors are world renowned specialists. Also, LMU has ranked in a list of top universities around the world.
