Generally, what is Linköping University like?
Linköping University is a state university in Linköping, Sweden. Linköping University was granted full university status in 1975 and it is now one of Sweden's largest academic institutions.
Linköping University is a research-based university with excellence in education.
LiU, as we often call it, is a multi-faculty university where research and education are equally important. Since the start in the late 60’s, Linköping University has been an innovator, creating new study programmes and new ways to tackle research problems. Innovation has become our tradition.
Furthermore, we have always had strong dialogue with the surrounding business sphere and the community at large, both in terms of research and education. What LiU creates should be of benefit to the public. Together we can build a better, more sustainable world.
The LiU campuses are situated in Linköping and Norrköping in East Sweden. The university is an important driving force for regional development. However, the mission is greater—Linköping University is a national and international player. World-class research is conducted within cutting-edge domains such as new materials, IT and disability research. Students come from all across the globe, with over 80 nationalities represented at LiU. Many LiU students study abroad for a semester or a year. The international perspective is essential when working to expand reality.
What are the facilities like?
There are many cultural events and associations at Linköping University.
The Andrum (room for reflection) is for the use of those seeking tranquillity, silence, reflection, prayer or meditation. Everyone is welcome.
In order to offer an attractive, environmentally friendly workplace for students and staff, we provide facilities support services to LiU departments and units. Facilities Support also undertakes external assignments.
Facilities Support can assist with the following tasks:
- Waste management: all separated waste materials are handled by Facilities Support.
- Electronic waste: we collect and dispose of electronic waste.
- Relocation: we provide support for both small and large relocations.
- Furnishings: our professionally trained staff install, maintain and repair all types of furnishings.
- Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes: if the lighting becomes shadowy - contact Facilities Support. We change light bulbs and fluorescent tubes using ladders and lifts.
- Alarm and Pass system: operation and maintenance of Alarm and Pass system.
- LiU card. Distribution of LiU cards are distributed at:
- Student Service Desk in Zenit at Campus Valla.
- Student Desk Service Kåkenhus at Campus Norrköping.
- Service Centre, Entrance 65, level 9 at the University Hospital Campus.
What are the tutors like?
The primary responsibility of the Department of Facilities Management is to manage the University's facilities. The objective of the operation is for premises and campus environments to contribute to making the University attractive to students and researchers and for the costs of running the facilities to be kept at a reasonable level through active facilities resource management in order for resources to be made available for the core operations.
The Department represents the University in the planning and implementation of new construction and in renovation and negotiation of rental terms with landlords.
Are the lessons easy in Linköping University?

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
International Office in cooperation with student organisation organise many social activities, such as:

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Linköping University offers education at the basic and advanced levels via 140 study programmes, 600 single-subject courses and specialised as well as interdisciplinary postgraduate studies. A large number of the degree programmes lead to qualified professional degrees in fields such as medicine, business and economics, teacher education and engineering. Many of the programmes are interdisciplinary, combining for example industrial management and engineering, medicine and engineering, or integrating economics, law and languages. [9] In 1986 the Faculty of Health Sciences became the first faculty in Sweden to put problem-based learning into practice within medical training and health-care programmes. In 2007, the Medical Programme and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Control systems were recognised as Centres of Excellence in Higher Education by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education. The recognition was based on a thorough quality assessment by a panel of experts.
