Why did you choose to go to Linköping, Sweden?

I went to Linköping to do an internship in a pharmacology lab because it was a lab with a good reputation and I wanted to experience something different than going to the UK or US (best places in the world for biomedical science).

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I didn't do an Erasmus, only one-month internship. I didn't receive any economical help.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Linköping to other students?

Definitely! There are many students and it's very green, full of nature. Also Swedish people are very very funny.

What is the food like?

There are many different kinds of restaurants and Hemköp is very big so you have lots of options.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Linköping?

A lot! I signed up for Studentbostäder many months ago but then they told me that I couldn't only rent for one month. So I had to do lots of research in the net, but it was very difficult to find (or extremely expensive or not available for only a month). So I joined a Facebook group called "Spanish people in Linköping" and a guy contacted me offering me a room in his flat, so I finally got it. But it was the only option I had!

How much does it cost to live in Linköping?

The accommodation in my case was 3500 SEK and then the food for the whole month buying it in Hemköp approximately cost around 1600 SEK.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Linköping from your city?

The most economical way is to fly directly from Barcelona to Stockholm and then catch a train from Stockholm Central Station to Linköping. But the train is about 2 hours and it's kind of expensive, apart from the horrible timetable. So what I did is the easiest way: fly from Barcelona to Amsterdam and then from Amsterdam to Linköping directly. And then there catch a bus to the central station and another bus to my flat.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Linköping?

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Linköping in the future?
