Cerro Negro

Well, my experience starts when I went to Leon on april 10th 2017 (one month ago)

I was visiting the city and I found out that I could make sandboarding I was really surprised I had never heard about it before but I was willing to try it anyway

I booked in one tour operator which is called Tierra Tour. 

The tour operator offers two choices: 

first, 30 dollars if you want to make sandboarding 

second, 28 dollars if you want just hiking 

I chose to make sandboarding at the next day they picked me up at my hostel which was Colibry (really good 10 dollars per person in dormitory) it was in a shuttle (with a/c of course) There were 2 people the driver and the guide then they picked up some more people (8 more actually) first we made a stop in the tour operator office to get some information and to pay for the trip after that we made a quick stop in the market the guide went down from the shuttle to buy some fruits and there you have the opportunity to buy some water (you will need it later on) next we move toward the volcano, the trip to the volcano lasted about 45 minutes + 20 minutes in the city (around 1 hour)

after that we got to a office there you have to sign up and if you want to use the bathroom you can use it there

finally after all that trip we got to the volcano foot and the guide gave us some instructions like to keep a distance of 2 meters between each other by the way he gave us a bag with a suit, gogos and gloves inside and your board (you have to carry it by yourself or you can pay 3 dollars for some also carry it for you) I chose to carry by myself after that finally we started hiking the volcano (I would recommend to use a lot of sun screen and bring a lot of water) we stopped two times to see the outlook it was gorgeous then after 50 minutes hiking we got to the top, we saw the central america arc and the place where we will board down, after that we started to dress up (gogos, suit and glove) by the way there are two kinds of boards one four sitting and the other one for standing, I chose to slide down by sitting It was amazing one of the best experience of my life the guide took my speed and it was 63 kilometers per hour I was scaried but at the same time excited once I got to the bottom I took the suit off and you have to walk to look for the shuttle the guide gave us some fruits (banana and tangerine) and then we drove back to the city of Leon, I took like 3 showers because I was full of volcanic ash

So guys my advise is to take this trip you take like one hour to get there but it is worthy

Dont think too much and go

Dont take the standing one but you will fall down and it hurts a lot
