What is the student lifestyle like in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?

It's party! But local students are really into learning, and teachers also, I had to study a lot!

How much does it cost to live in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?

It depends. Prices in the shops are a little bit higher than in my country, prices for renting a room are around 180-300€, alcohol is cheap. There are some surfing courses for students which are also cheap. If you ask for the "tarjeta de residencia" (residents card) in the city office, you get 50% discount for local flights/ferries in Spain.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not so bad. Try to find a place beetween street "Mesa y López" and the sea. It's the best place for Erasmus students because you can both surf and go to parties.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The restaurants are very good - you can eat how much you want for about 10€.

Casa de Colón. You can rent a bike or get one for free publick one at Biciambiental. The best is to rent a car and go to mountains, to the heart of the island, there are a lot of small rural places. Go to a banana plantation!
