How long is the scholarship? ¿How much money do you get as help?

5 months, €300 per month.

How is the student evironment in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?

The Erasmus environment is fantastic... but I haven't experienced any of the student life.

Would you recommend the town and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to other students?

Absolutely yes.

What's the food like there?

I don't eat fish, being an island this is a big part of the typical diet there, but the rest of it has been good.

How did you find accommodation?

Through the university, during the Welcome week.

How much was your rent? And what were other general expenses?

I was paying €275 euro a month... a little bit more than average, but I really liked it. The prices are very good, especially in the north of the island... in the south the weather and the beaches are better, but there's more tourism so the prices are higher. The Erasmus students and universities are in the North.

How's the language? Did you go to any course at the university?

Spanish is easy to learn. I had already studied it at secondary school. I did the university "Español para extranjeros livello B2" but honestly it was a bit ridiculous, but better than nothing I guess. With the other Erasmus I mainly spoke English.

What's the cheapest way to get to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from your hometown?

Ryanir direct flight from Bergamo.

Which places do you advice for partying in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?

3x1, Camaleón, Limbo, 100 Montaditos, Flash, Heineken, Fortuni.

And for eating in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria? Can you tell us about your favorites places?

Wednesdays at 100 Montaditos is always great.

And the cultural spots to visit?

You must take a tour of the old town: the Cathedral (there are amazing views at the top of the tower), Columbus' house... you can see everything in just half-a-day. Then you should also visit the small villages.
