What is it like to live in Kouvola? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Where would I start... some people love it and some people hate it. Kouvola is huge by area but the city centre is small and quiet. There's not much things to do especially if you don't have a car, bike or bus card. The university of applied science is in a beautiful and old area close to the city centre. There are student houses right next to the campus and 4km away. Try your best not to get to the student houses 4km away even though it's much cheaper out there.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kouvola?

Once a month there is a student party. Not much sports available. If you want some activities you have to be creative and active yourself.

How much does it cost to live in Kouvola?

Depends of the area and the type of accomodation 220-600e

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kouvola? Is there any advice you can give?

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are many restaurants even though it's a small city. I loved the Thai place (don't remember the name), betony and el mundo

What places would you recommend visiting in Kouvola?

Is the nightlife good in Kouvola? Where is good to go?

Only few clubs but there are many good pubs. Like gastropub betony

What advice would you give future students heading to Kouvola?

Save money for travelling around if you want to see more of Finland. And remember it's not the place but your attitude that makes or brakes your experience in Kouvola.
