Why did you choose to go to Kokkola, Finland?

Centria University is offers for the student a good placement of studying because they have a lot of excellent professors and new equipment . Besides , study in Kokkola I can save money for housing and food . Price is much more cheaper than other areas in Finland

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It's about 4 months , I've been received 1200 euro . I can manage the costs living here and can travel somewhere with this money

What is the student lifestyle like in Kokkola?

You can party on the weekend but with the asian student they quite prefer staying at home and enjoy their weekend . But for me , party here is very fun and I like to go

Would you recommend the city and the University of Kokkola to other students?

As I saw that , study here is the best place for you but if you looking for somewhere noisy and modern I think you better apply for University in Helsinki . Weather in here is like a girl , sometimes really cold and sometimes it quite hot ( spring time ) , and in the winter it can be reached -26 degree . Just think before you came

What is the food like?

Good , The cafeteria at Centria University quite delicious in my point of view . They serve you a really good meal and fresh . Potatoes are used everyday

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Kokkola?

Yes , Food price and housing in here cheaper than other places , I feel very good . Nothing problem

How much does it cost to live in Kokkola?

I usually spend 100 euro for food and nearly 200euro for housing so the total is 300 euro/ month

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Finnish language is hard to study , but if you try hard you can manage yourself in communicate by Finnish with the locals

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Kokkola?

They have 5 bars then you can go on the weekend you can go on a night out

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Kokkola?

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Kokkola in the future?

Prepare warm clothes and summer clothing if you will stay here for 1 year . If you just study here 1 semester and it happens in the winter time , so I strongly recommend you that you should prepare really warm clothes for you if you want to survive through the winter
