What is it like to live in Kocaeli? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city center is suitable for a student. There are some other good places in the city but if you spend in the city more than 6 months you may be bored. I can recommend it because it is next to the Istanbul and Bursa. Transportation is really cheap so you can go to see and fun to this places.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kocaeli?

There is a Street that full of night clubs and pubs. There are really highest standarts cafes at the city centre. You can hang out in that places or you can arrange a home party.

How much does it cost to live in Kocaeli?

I live with my family and my home is far from the school. My transportation costs me higher than other my friends. I spend 275 Euros per month(all included). If you rent a house, it will cost to you around 600 Euros for one person per month(all included).

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kocaeli? Is there any advice you can give?

It is not. There are lots of living places where designed for students. Especially, "Bayındırlık, Dünya Bankası, Kent Konut" areas are really good for accomodation.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can eat everything in Turkey. Place does not matter but you cannot find pork except some supermarkets. Not only Kocaeli but also each city in our country is really good at this section.

What places would you recommend visiting in Kocaeli?

There are not that much places. Maybe "Kartepe, Maşukiye, Eskihisar" are some good places to visit.

Is it good to eat out in Kocaeli? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Of course. "Dayıcım Burger, Katık Döner" are my favourites.

Is the nightlife good in Kocaeli? Where is good to go?

It is not good enough for a student.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kocaeli?

Kocaeli is not good enough for a European student for fun but dont hesitate to come to here. The most beatiful city in the World İstanbul is next to our country. It takes a hour to get there and you can do whatever you want in Istanbul.
