What is it like to live in Koblenz? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I love living in Koblenz! You have so many oportunities for freetime entertainment. The two rivers offer great chances for outdor activites, the castles in and around Koblenz and the long history of the city are also interesting for activities at the weekend. The people are nice, friendly and heartwarming.

What is the student lifestyle like in Koblenz?

The university is not big. We do only have around 8000 students. Most of them are going to be a teacher, but there also students which study other subjects.

How much does it cost to live in Koblenz?

The cost of living is normal in comparison to toher cities. Not cheap and not expensive!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Koblenz? Is there any advice you can give?

It is difficult to find an accomodation in Koblenz, because there are not enough appartments for students. At the beginning of the semester, you can easyly find a room in a shared flat, but finding a housing, where you can live alone, is not easy.
Be open minded, look for an accomodation early and don't give up!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There is no special food here in Koblenz, but there are a lot of restaurants in and around the old town where you can find good food.

What places would you recommend visiting in Koblenz?

- Festung Ehrenbreitstein
- Deutsches Eck
- Rheinanlagen
- Mosel
- Stattstrand
And other places around Koblenz, e.g. Burg Eltz or the crag in Sayn.

Is it good to eat out in Koblenz? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I love eating burgers in Koblenz, e.g. at Cowboys, Hans im Glück or M13. But there are also a lot of other good restaurants in and around the old town.

Is the nightlife good in Koblenz? Where is good to go?

There are a lot of good bars in the old town, but there is no good place for clubbing.

What advice would you give future students heading to Koblenz?

Be open minded, go to the events from the welcome center at the university, take part of the buddy program or go to the uni sport. There are a lot of opportunities where you can meet new people!
