What is it like to live in Klaipeda? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Klaipėda - city where I was born and I'm still living in this amazing city. I'm 100 percent recommend for every Erasmus student (and others) to visit Klaipėda. Klaipėda is situated beside the Baltic Sea, have beautiful sand beaches surounded by forests. Also city has culture heritage - the Old Town, where you will find not only an architecture, museums, but big variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and other entertaining areas.

What is the student lifestyle like in Klaipeda?

In mine mentoring experieces, the Erasmus student's life style looks like this: parties, sea and the beach, nature and culture trps, etc. Erasmus students really enjoy their time in Klaipėda.

How much does it cost to live in Klaipeda?

Usually students lives in universities dormitories. It costs about 90 euros per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Klaipeda? Is there any advice you can give?

It depends how much time the student is searching for a flat and how much time (period) he is planning to stay in the city. The cheaper flats is situated in south part of the city.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

If you know zeppelins, you know what I'm talking about. A lot of Lithuanian traditional dishes is with potatoes and meat, but we also have another great and different meals. And also we are proud of our traditional beer.

What places would you recommend visiting in Klaipeda?

The Klaipėda old town, Smiltynė, museums, beaches and much more. Come and visit us.

Is it good to eat out in Klaipeda? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Klaipėda has plenty of different restaurants types (Lithuanian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, fast food, Turkish, Mexican and more). A lot of them is situated in the old town, but students also like to go to famous city mall Akropolis.

Is the nightlife good in Klaipeda? Where is good to go?

The city has a lot of night clubs, bars and pubs. Once again, a lot of them is in old town, but this is not the only place - you can find clubs in other city areas. Popolar clubs are DR. WHO, FABRIC, BATMAN, MARTINI.

What advice would you give future students heading to Klaipeda?

If you chose Klaipėda as your Erasmus studies or internship place and you get a message from your mentor, contact with him (you can ask more information). Don't forget Facebook.
