Kitwe isn’t really a big city. It’s super cozy. Living in kitwe, you get to know and be known by a lot of people. Its a busy city, but the best part is, it’s like a business center.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kitwe?

Pretty cool. You have your freedom and your fun and your advantages here and there. You also get a chill spot for students only, which is pretty cool.

How much does it cost to live in Kitwe?

If you’re a student from another city and you’re living on campus, you need about K1,500 for your standard grocery shopping, which is the basics. If you love off campus you’ll need about K2,500. But if you’re looking for a really enjoyable student life, anything above K3000 is your goal.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kitwe? Is there any advice you can give?

If you’re on campus, you’re set. But off campus you’ll really need an agents help. Accommodation is everywhere, the key is to know where exactly.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The local food is amazing. There’s nshima(pap) and a lot of tradition/ local foods. Plenty of western, Indian, Nigerian and Zambian restaurants as well. Personally I don’t have any faves, but I’d recommend a good pap, pumpkin leaves and chicken.

What places would you recommend visiting in Kitwe?

There isn’t much to see in kitwe.

Is it good to eat out in Kitwe? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

It’s actualy really nice to eat out, because there are some places with good food. Personally I like afrigonia. It has amazing food.

Is the nightlife good in Kitwe? Where is good to go?

Night life is kind of good in kitwe. It was better before but it’s alright still. You can choose to go to copperbullets, that on the top floor at ECL mall or east point that’s a club or hashtag.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kitwe?

Just do you, have a good time and study hard. Stay out of trouble because the law doesn’t play Games here
