What is it like to live in Katerini? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Katerini is one of the newest cities in Greece, it's quote small, but it offers many things to do and to see. I would definetely recommend it. It has some of the best beaches in Greece and it's the place where the highest mountain of Greece is located, "the place of Gods", Olympus, so you have lots of options if you love nature.

What is the student lifestyle like in Katerini?

Since there is only one department for studies, Logistics, there aren't many students in Katerini. But there are students who are from Katerini and live there and especially on the weekends, many students who study in cities nearby, come to Katerini to have fun.

How much does it cost to live in Katerini?

I think the prices are quite ok for everything. You can find cheap flats in the city center and food, drinks and shopping are maybe cheaper than other bigger cities.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Katerini? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't think it's difficult to find accommodation in Katerini. And since it's a small town, you can be in the city center fast, even you live "far" from it. The flats are usually new and renovated.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You can eat from pizza and pasta to delicious gyros and crepes. My favorite are savory crepes!

What places would you recommend visiting in Katerini?

Definetely the beaches, mountain Olympus and Pieria mountains. The ancient city of Dion is 17km away and the Venetian castle of Platamonas is breathtaking!

Is it good to eat out in Katerini? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are some nice restaurants, local tavernas and ouzeris. One of the best spots is "Ta mpinelikia" which has reasonable prices, "karafaki", "paradosi" and the pizzeria of "Al forno".

Is the nightlife good in Katerini? Where is good to go?

Katerini has great nightlife! "Kartell" and "Boga" are some of the most famous cafe-bars. There are some clubs too, like "Hotel" and "Gold". "Red" is an altrenative choice also.

What advice would you give future students heading to Katerini?

Explore and see the beauty of this city and the places nearby, especially during spring and summer. :)
