Kaliningrad is not a big but very cozy according to Russian standards city. People are very welcome amd nice. You will be able t tavel nearby to Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, etc.
What is the student lifestyle like in Kaliningrad?
There are quite many students in Kaliningrad, but foreigners are not so frequent guests. But if you are active you will definitely find good people to hang out with
How much does it cost to live in Kaliningrad?
I'd say 400-500 euro per month will be enough, but it depends how much one spends
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kaliningrad? Is there any advice you can give?
There are dorms , but their quality is rather low, you can try to find it on place
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is mostly european, quality of fruits and veges is rather low. You can try local fish.
What places would you recommend visiting in Kaliningrad?
Amber museum, Yantarniy, Svetlogorks, Vishtinez lake
Cultural places: ArtVorota and Flat (at Kolosskova st.)

It's good to eat out especially in Kruassan cafe
Is the nightlife good in Kaliningrad? Where is good to go?
Nightlife is quite poor, but I'm not an expert
What advice would you give future students heading to Kaliningrad?
Take warm clothes, try to search for local communities, be active and u will find fun
