What is it like to live in Jihlava? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Jihlava is really calm city with 50 000 inhabitant and there are many places which worth visiting! For examle there are catacombs under the town, zoo, churches, "aty

The transport is good in the city, I have never got a problem with it.

Restaurant - I can recomend you restaurant Tři knížata in the Masaryk´s square Nika, Atrium, these are good restaurant quiet the square. My favourite bar is New age and than Nocturno - near the square too. And the best ice coffe in Jihlava is in cafe Etage in the square too. There are some discotecs too but I do not visit it too much because I study in the different city.

Landscape - In Jihlava, there are 2 cycling path, There are the restaurant Kačaba in the Path to the vilage Luka nad Jihlavou (great pizza). And Jihlava is located in Highland so there are many hills for some trips etc. There are many interesting places near Jihlava - Zaječí skok in the village Rantířov, castle in Telč, and so on so on..... :)

Weather - four seasons changing.

Prices - very cheap for other european country

What is the student lifestyle like in Jihlava?

I do not know so much because I study in the different city, but there are discotecs, bars and pubs... I think no problem with entertainment :)

How much does it cost to live in Jihlava?

Wow difficul quation.... It depends on many things.... But the rent for room in the flat per month with all charges is 2500 - 3000 CZK....
Bear - 25 CZK, ice coffe - 55 CZK, alcoholic coctail from 50 to 90 CZK, Meal in restaurant from 75 CZK, ... You can find very cheap shop like Lidl, Kaufland.... you have possiblity to life very cheaply ...

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Jihlava? Is there any advice you can give?

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I cand recomend you svíčková (sirloin), guláš (goulash) and knedlo vepřo zelo (dumplings with pork and cabbage) :) there are typical czech dishes. On the other hand I prefer pasta or something lighter. There are many possiblity of restaurant.

What places would you recommend visiting in Jihlava?

Square, Zaječí skok, castle in Telč, tower of st Jacobs church....

Is it good to eat out in Jihlava? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Tři knížata in the squre - great and very favourity restaurant among the people, Nika and Atrium... Café - Etage, Radniční and Double Decker in City park (shopping centre)

There are many gyms - Fitness factory - very favourity, Fit people, Gym.....In Gym I can recomend you workout lessons

Is the nightlife good in Jihlava? Where is good to go?

Nocturno, New Age bar, Xanadu is favourity discotec, Jupík - disco, in Telč is Mexx and some people like to go to Havlíčkův Brod (town near Jihlava)

What advice would you give future students heading to Jihlava?

Jihlava is not so huge but deffinitely there are many interesting places and it worth seeing ;) Good luck
