What is it like to live in Jabalpur? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

City is historical and famous for its mythological stories and temples. Especially Hindu temples. I would recommend it for tourism or vacation, but never for studies. Also for shopping and especially clothing, it's like heaven.

What is the student lifestyle like in Jabalpur?

It's been a long time since I was there. There is one state University, 1 engineering college and 1 med school famous for it's anatomy department. Apart from that, it's very dull. But during festivals, especially from mid October - mid November, it's all bright and shine and people go crazy.

How much does it cost to live in Jabalpur?

With 200 Euros, one can literally live like a prince. A single furnished room costs around 20-30 bucks/month with basic necessities. 50-80 bucks whole apartment or home, some furnished, some may not. 50-70 bucks for food if someone eats every day in a decent restaurant.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Jabalpur? Is there any advice you can give?

No. In fact, it's very easy. Just beware of some frauds. Coz there are very few foreigners there.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is cheap and amazing. If you like Indian food which is cheap and delicious, then this place is for you. It's famous for some sweets and some other dishes, something like Jalebi and Gulaab Jaamun.

What places would you recommend visiting in Jabalpur?

Bhera Ghat waterfall. Everyone knows about it in Jabalpur and it's famous in Asia, the hot spot for tourist of all kind. There are so many ancient temples.

Is it good to eat out in Jabalpur? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Definitely. I would recommend to go to some Dhabas, located at the outskirts of city on the Highway number 7. Go with friends, u won't regret it.

Is the nightlife good in Jabalpur? Where is good to go?

Sadly the nightlife is very boring. There is not much to do.

What advice would you give future students heading to Jabalpur?

If you are looking for some good education, don't go there. People are greedy and it's not safe for foreigners, let alone the locals.
