ISEG 2010/2011

I am a french Erasmus student. I was admitted at the university of economics and management (ISEG) of Lisbon for the year 2010/2011.

Iseg Administration:

The university holds an office specifically for Erasmus students. It's a landmark for all the international students. The team is warm and available. From the moment we arrived, we were able to change or keep the courses we chose for the semester. If you have any difficulties with your housing, the team will find useful and trustworthy information.

Iseg Location:

The location of the university is perfect. In fact, the university is situated about 10 minutes on foot from the city center baixa-chiado as well as 5 minutes from the rato metro station.

Iseg Environment:

Iseg holds a large amount of classrooms and a fully equipped information technology room. The library is fully equipped with computers and a study room that is open 24/7 during exam periods.

You will find at the center of campus 3 snack and 1 self service as well as a coffee shop in the garden of the university.

Iseg Courses:

Concerning the courses specialized in management, you can choose from the 4 or 6 credit courses. Overall the courses complete, but I noticed a lack of practice in each subject. However, the professors are very informed and well educated.

Besides the courses, the exams are relatively accessible. Again, that is obviously assuming you were diligent in class and rigorous in your personal work. There are also two exam sessions each semester: the first exam period and the catch ups. The catch ups take place approximately two weeks following the first exams.

Iseg Events:

The university organizes very few events, parties or trips. In itself, this is not too inconvenient since Lisbon is a young and dynamic city. The bairro alto is clearly the place acclaimed as much by Erasmus students as Portuguese people. The bairro alto is the ideal place to get a drink and meet people! Otherwise, the beach is 20 minutes away from Lisbon by train.
