Summer school student, in need of 2 week accomodation begin July

I am a Belgian medical student, in search of a place to stay during the summer school about dementia on Crete. (first two weeks of July) I am looking for a room, I don't need any luxury because I will be exploring Crete during my summer school period as much as possible. Any hints on finding a cheap spot to stay in Heraklion are very welcome.
