Livin' la vida Erasmus!

Hello everyone!

I'm from Porto, Portugal and I'll be in Irakleion from September to January. 

Has anyone already arrived in Crete? I'm having some trouble in finding accommodation. Actually I found a studio that looks nice (from the pictures) but they want me to pay the rent in advance which means...1000€ in the very first day! And later, i would pay the rest. I'm not comfortable with paying almost everything in the beginning because I may not like the place that much.

Please...let's share some experiences or contacts!!! What are your plans? Are you planning on finding your accommodation only when you get there?
