Generally, what is Indian Institute of Technology Bombay like?

It is fun place to do extra curricular activities. Studies are not too great, but that is system level problem. Worth visiting campus with a lake , mountain and wild animals inside the campus. Located at very central area of Mumbai city and all the round clock transportation facilitiy, food facilities are great and security is good.

What are the facilities like?

All facilities are good as compared to general standards in other universities of India. Strictly not at par with facilities you get in universities abroad.

What are the tutors like?

Tutors expect students to put lot of efforts to get things done. This is general trend in Indian education system. SO if you are hard working, then only you will get through.

Are the lessons easy in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay?

The standard of Engineering studies is higher than average. The assignments load is heavy.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Cultural festival, Science festival are once in a year basis. But small cultural activities and seminars happen weekly. Not much emphasis or promotion for these things although.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Yes teaching is of good quality as per standards of India.

Are there any stories you can share?

The number of women is hugely less than men by many folds. So rare involvement of men and women interaction. This can be very surprising for many of my friends from Europe, who will visit the campus. Again this is cultural thing common in India. Women must come prepared to face hugely being stared all the times; better be psychologically prepared for that.
