Experience in University of Hull, United Kingdom by Matthew
Generally, what is University of Hull like?
Decent. A respectable university which has everything you'd require to further yourself in your chosen course.
What are the facilities like?
The Business School is a beautiful building, at a cost of a reported £9M it provides a pleasant atmosphere in which to work in and is host to some of the best professors from around the world. The school has a prestigious award which only 1% of business schools world-wide have achieved- Triple Crown status by earning AACSB accreditation, the European Foundation for Management Development quality mark, EQUIS, and the Association of MBA (AMBA) accreditation for the school’s MBA programme.
What are the tutors like?
Often very helpful, rarely cold and unattached. You always get feedback on assignments you've completed which highlight your strengths and weaknesses, which enables you to grow more as a student.
Are the lessons easy in University of Hull?
No, they are not 'lessons' as such, you soak up information in these classes and most of the work you will do at home. They are split into 'lectures' and 'tutorials', lectures are in a theatre with hundreds of students where you will simply listen to the tutor and make notes. Tutorials are more like school classes where there will be a smaller group of students who are encouraged to participate in classroom discussion. They can sometimes be 'easy' but usually they make you think and if you experience any difficulty, the teacher will be happy to help you.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Yes, couldn't expect much more.
