My 1-day in Hanoi experience

I was lucky enough to visit Hanoi on a beautiful day in February 2024. The weather was nice and I was able to experience all I wanted as planned.

I started the day with a bowl of beef noodles (local people called it Pho Bo) at Hanoi Old Quarter, instead of a buffet breakfast at the hotel. I think it is a better way to immerse in the local life.

My first visit was to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, followed by One Pillar Pagoda and Ho Chi Minh Museum, all within a complex. It took quite a long time to queue in line for the main mausoleum, while the museum was a bit crowded. I had lunch with fresh spring rolls. This dish was not as impressive as people say on the Internet. Maybe because I didn't choose a famous restaurant.

I spent the afternoon at the Temple of Literature. Remember to hire a local tour guide if you visit this destination to learn as many historical and cultural lessons as possible. They are very very interesting.

Next, I moved to Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre for a water puppet show. It was amazing as well. This is a must-try experience if you visit Hanoi with your little kids. I saw many kids smile and cheer during the show.

I concluded my day with a 2-hour beer relaxing at Ta Hien Street, where I met some countrymen.

If you travel solo or at a leisure pace, I think it is enough.
