Experience in Hanoi, Vietnam by Lala

What is it like to live in Hanoi? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Hanoi is the best beautiful at night. The traffic is too crazy, so i love to driving around Hanoi at night, or holidays.

I dont know how to say to make you feel about my love - Hanoi. Although the traffic is too bad, the air is not clean at all, but when sundown everything would changed. I love the autumn in Hanoi, the wind will make you think about memories.

With me, not any word can draw Hanoi beauty. Hanoi have four season but only the autumn i really love. You should listen this song "Thu Cuối".

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Hanoi? Is there any advice you can give?

If you are foreigner that im not sure. You should learn some vietnamese then search google by vietnamese or you can get friend with any Vietnamese so they always willing to help you - because Vietnamese really friendly.

Or you should try to search with this words "cho thuê nhà Hà Nội", "thuê nhà giá rẻ Hà Nội"... then use google translate. Well, but house for rent in Hanoi or Vietnam too small to a foreigner.

If you find house in Old Quarter of Hanoi or somewhere near West lake, for sure that it will a little bit expensive. The best choice for a foreigner is ask a Vietnamese friend.

One more, you should stay around main streets like : Chùa Láng (some university here), Đội Cấn (my street and this is the best of the best street. Really, i can get everything here and its near both West lake and Hoankiem lake or you can walking to Badinh Square at night), Giảng võ, Giang Văn Minh (near Doican street), Nguyễn Chí Thanh (near Chualang street), or some street belong to Dongda (Đống Đa) district.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

If you come to Vietnam, make sure that the place have the most delicious food is Hanoi. And i suggest you should try the street foods once when come here, you will fall in love with them. And whenever you wanna get foods, you just go outside then looking around, here, foods always willing for you.

My favorites food is Bún Chả, its the best of the best, but someone thinks perfectly is Phở. No matter, Phở is secondly.Haha. But except Phở or Bún Chả, you should try Nem, Bún đậu or everything you see here but with bún đậu, make sure that you can eat "Mắm tôm" or "Nước mắm"- Don't you know what is that? Well, let search. And you can go to Hang Dao (Hàng Đào) street to try the "ô mai" or you can ask someone about Cốm (it's young rice, i think). Or you can try "Cơm rang", "rau muống", "thịt kho tầu"... so much foods can make you love.

Maybe you never know that we are like "grill legs chicken" so much, haha. And please never say "i wanna try dogs meat". And i also never can eat "Trứng vịt lộn", seems terrible, but you can try it "trứng vịt lộn" though never try dogs meat.

Right now i can remember all kinds of food to tell you, maybe you can ask google but im not sure that mr.google can let you know somethings like me - who grew in Hanoi till now.
