Erasmus never ends but... when did it start?

Everybody says that the Erasmus scholarship is 6 or 8 or 10 or 12 months long, but....

..do you remember the days waiting for the provisonal lists? And even worse, the waiting for the last lists which said where we definitely were going to go? And the time looking for residence or flat to live (without help)? And you subjects programmes and Learning Agreements difficulties? Your tickets? Your lugage? :P
