What is it like to live in Grosseto? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Grosseto is a calm and quiet city. If you're a person who doesn't want to be bothered, it's perfect for the purpose. However, if you prefer a busy or intense life, Grosseto doesn't fit for you.

There are many green areas where you can relax and it isn't so small as you imagine. The city of Grosseto is in the heart of the Maremma.

What is the student lifestyle like in Grosseto?

In Grosseto, there are only from the Primary until the High School Education Programme. We used to have The University, but I don't really know if still working. In general, for University Programme Education you have to move out from Grosseto. The students usually meet each other into the city center or the Mall: sometimes in libraries or Cinemas.

How much does it cost to live in Grosseto?

Honesty, I don't have all the details but not so much I guess.

The house rent can be 400-500 euros approximately for a flat.

The other expenses are not too high, with a normal-medium wadge, you can easily handle. We have separate collecting service for the garbage.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Grosseto? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it isn't. Check rent agencies and the website.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Grosseto offers Tuscan traditional dishes and winery history as well. Variety of pasta, meat, vegetables, cheese, and related products, hams, smoked salami, tortellini, ravioli, etc.

My favorite dishes are: pasta with tomato sauce and pasta with buzzura sauce. The pasta with buzzurra sauce is pasta with fresh tomatoes cut, cooked with oil, garlic, and black pepper flavors.

What places would you recommend visiting in Grosseto?

There are many places to visit, I will suggest some random for your pleasure.

  • Grosseto Town Hall with the medieval influence and the History of Aldobrandeschi's Family: all the City Center has historic influences.
  • The Industri's Theatre, one of the most old-style mansion theatre; I heard there is a remarkable stage season.
  • The Giotto's Park it's where you can relax, abandon yourself on your mind thoughts, have a walk, run, jogging and previously, even play Cricket. There was a Cricket field when I was a kid. I personally like it and I usually go there when I want to just relax and have a break.

Grosseto it's about 12 minutes from the seaside.

Is it good to eat out in Grosseto? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

About the Cookery I strongly suggest a place called Hungry Years. It's a restaurant inspired by Bavarian, German food mixed with the Tuscan Ones. They have a very good standard with a reliable service. The staff is always kind and gentle. The restaurant is near the City Center.

Another place, with all Tuscan cookery, is Primo Restaurant, La Parolaccia. The restaurant is in Roselle City, nearby Grosseto: It takes 10-20 minutes approximately.

Is the nightlife good in Grosseto? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Grosseto is not so crowded. During the weekend we have more activities to do. I'm not an expert because I prefer staying at home, lying on the sofa and watching TV series or reading books and comic books. Besides that, I suggest:

  • La Cantina-Jab I Magazzini Piazza del Sale. It's a lounge, disco, restaurant where people can talk and dance.
  • The Comix Café, for passionate of Comic Books, Graphic Novels, Games, and other similar related activities; I am and was a habitue.
  • Palomar Bookshop where you can read a book, drink a coffee and have a pleasant chat with friends or female company.

What advice would you give future students heading to Grosseto?

For future students hiding for Grosseto, I suggest enjoying the place. It could be suitable for students, but very difficult to find a Job for graduates.
