It's a small student town, so it's not a big city live. But you can drive easily by bike to wherever you going, which is pretty good.

There is a lot of going on, because there are many students.

How much does it cost to live in Gießen?

You can live quite cheap. As there are many students, everything is quite cheap. Food, parties, drinks... you can also find cheap rooms if you are lucky.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Gießen? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes. There are sooo many students and especially when the new semester starts rooms are rare and you have to make castings.

I recommend, to look at Wg-Gesucht. There are nearly all of the rooms and in winter semester I recommend to look for rooms before middle of august.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are so many restaurants, and a lot of vegetarian and vegan places. You can get quite anything of food!

What places would you recommend visiting in Gießen?

Go to the Lahn, Schwanenteich. Just explore the city by bike and visit Marburg!

Brasserie, Gut Bürgerlich, Stadtcafe, ice cream at Heißzeit, etc.

Is the nightlife good in Gießen? Where is good to go?

There are mostly basement you can party. There is just one big, fancy club.

But everything is easy going, so you don't need to dress up super fancy and you can dance in comfy sneaker.

And we have a lot of students parties and house parties.

What advice would you give future students heading to Gießen?

Just get in contact with people and you will have an awesome time. Great students town with a lot of great activities.
