Post doctoral researcher in ITT looking for a flat share in Genova. No smoking, no pets.

I recently, and very unexpectedly got a job offer at the IIT and I'll be starting there in April. I'm a Kurdish guy who has lived half his life in Hamburg, Germany, and I'm really excited about the opportunity to come and live and work in your beautiful country. Apologies for writing in English but as I just got the job offer, I don't yet speak any Italian...hopefully I'll have at least a few words come April.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some information about a room or an apartment that's free for at least 5 months. I've been told that the best places to live would be centro storico or casteletto, I guess as long as it's not too far away from the Institute I'd be really happy.
I'm also looking to meet some wonderful new friends as I'm a very outgoing and curious guy. Hope to hear from you soon.
