What is it like to live in Genoa? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I have spent four years and a half in Genoa during my university years and they have been amazing. Generally, if you'll come only for a week or a day it will be difficult to really enjoy the city if you don't know already someone who knows it, because it is a difficult and really close city, as the people they live in. There are not so many Erasmus people and the people from Genoa most of the time remain close in their own group of friends. Thanks God not all of them are like this, and if you know some of them, they could bring you in the real Genoa's heart that are the "Vicoli" and "Centro Storico". A lot of people think that is the dangerous part of the city but don't let them scare you, because living Genoa life and nightlife above all, is living LA VICOLANZA. You must learn to listen to De Andre singer and watch Govi's movie, "Belin"!

What is the student lifestyle like in Genoa?

It's not really awesome, but the important things are to know people, to share the good and bad times.

How much does it cost to live in Genoa?

Cheap.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Genoa? Is there any advice you can give?

Not at all. Bakeca or Studenti.Check the public board in every university.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is really good. You must try:

• The focaccia in Focaccia di Recco
• Farinata
• Pizza in via di Ravecca
• Pasta al pesto everywhere (Ugo Tavern one of the best place, and also, La Funicolare)

For cheap and fast food, try Pasta-way in via San Vincenzo!

Boccadasse, Nervi, la foce, corso italia, fiera del mare (october), il porto, i vicoli (historic centre), montegrappa and piazza manin, corvetto and villa di negro, de ferrari and dante's square, the port with his beautiul view, certosa historic centre, il righi, la lanterna etc..
